This study will generate evidence for improving the design and implementation of MAIFIP. It will critically assess how MAIFIP was envisioned and designed to improve financial protection. This study will identify operational and administrative challenges. Also, the study will examine the impact of MAIFIP on total healthcare costs, OOP, and financial protection, which is critical for how to best align the program to the overall health system, especially in a multi-payer regime.
